Hi. I’m Anna, and the ‘Me’ in Marley and Me!
I founded my therapy practice in 2021, following the emotional impact the pandemic had on so many lives.
But my journey into healing work began long before that — woven through more than three decades of experience in mental health, education, and community support.
My Professional Path
I began my career in Mental Health, working as a Nursing Assistant before progressing to roles such as:
Deputy Charge Nurse
Nurse Therapist
Practice Development Nurse,
amongst other positions throughout my 11 years of NHS service.
After leaving the NHS in 2004, I returned to my roots in education — teaching in primary schools for a further 11 years. I later shifted into community work, supporting children who struggled in mainstream school for emotional, behavioural or educational reasons.
Across these years I have worked with both children and adults with a variety of presentations, including:
ADHD
Autism
trauma-based responses
emotional and behavioural difficulties
My passion has always been the same: helping people return to themselves — calmer, clearer and more connected to their own truth.
I am also a published author and released my fifth publication in November 2025.
The Part Marley Played
When Marley came into my life, I wasn’t yet calling myself a therapist. He was the one who taught me what presence really means — how to listen without words and hold steady space while another being finds their way back to calm.
Years later, when it was time to walk him home, everything deepened.
I accompanied him through his transition on 16th November 2024 — a moment of love, grief, and grace that reshaped my life. His strength and gentleness changed me.
That experience revealed my true path: To support humans in their healing and to honour the souls — human or animal — walking the final threshold home.
From that doorway, Home Journeys emerged: a service dedicated to end-of-life support for animals and their humans.
And in time, the two paths — human healing and soul companionship — came together as Marley & Me Soul Journeys.
